You can generally depend on your E-Track to securely haul even frequent, heavy loads. However, if your trailer floor is very thin or you’re not hitting enough studs, you’ll need an extra measure of reinforcement.

E-Track backing plates mount directly under the E-Track on the underside of the trailer. They spread the weight of your E-Track over a larger surface area, reinforcing the E-Track and improving tie-down support.

To install these backing plates, you will need access to the underside of the installation surface. Here’s how to install them in 4 easy steps:

Step 1: Use the plate to mark the drill holes.

Step 2: Drill holes for the bolts.

Step 3: Insert the bolts into all 4 holes.

Step 4: Install the plate on the underside of the surface.

Finish with washers and nuts. Don’t forget to tighten fully.

For the strongest hold, install plates every 2 to 4 feet.
