Horizontal E-Track Tie-Down Rail For Cargo Securement In Trailers And Trucks
The E-Track trailer system can be used for all your cargo tie-down needs. These rails can easily be bolted to any surface, across the wall or floor of your cargo van, flatbed trailer, or your pickup truck bed. 1/4" diameter mounting holes are spaced at 2" intervals along the length sides of the rail. 2 1/2" x 1" E-Track slots are spaced at 2" intervals. Logistic ratchet and cam buckle straps, motorcycle tie-downs, rope tie-offs, D rings, and other accessories with spring fittings can all be inserted into these E-Track slots with a press of a lever, making reliable load securement easy.
Galvanized Steel E-Track Horizontal Rail
This horizontal E-Track rail is made of 12 gauge heavy-duty steel, with a galvanized finish that delivers increased corrosion- and rust- resistance. It is available in 2, 3, 4 ,5, 8 and 10 foot lengths.
Using E-Track To Create A Tie Down System
Use two securement points in the e-track rail, either across from or next to each other, to surround your freight with a tight-hold. E-Track shoring beams, tie down straps, hooks, clips and shelving brackets with e-fittings will slip into the perpendicular slots. Tie down straps with wire hooks or bungee straps with s-hooks can be utilized as well, by attaching the hook to an E-Track anchor ring or D-ring. E-Track straps offer you constant adjustability for loads of varying sizes, while bars project a more steady hold for consistently sized loads. If you plan to use mainly load bars and shoring beams, you may want to consider using vertical E-Track instead, which is better suited for anchor points which need to run perpendicular to the floor.
Horizontal E-Track Rail Installation
You will be pleased to find that simple self-threading ¼" screws, hex or wood bolts, or even rivets or welding can be applied to connect these E-Tracks to the floor or wall of your interior van or flatbed. The screw holes are pre-placed at your discretion, and ideally, every 3rd, 4th or 5th hole on each side should be bolted tightly to your trailer.
When installing two horizontal e-track rails on the same wall, they should be placed parallel to one another for optimal functioning. This will ensure the attachment at each end falls into the same slot number and ensures you are using your strap efficiently by avoiding twists or uneven turns. Once the E-Track is attached to your walls or floor, your trailer tie down system is now ready for use! Slip the E-Track fitting and straps of your choice into the slots to begin creating your custom trailer tie down system.
The horizontal e-track is no stranger to over-weight loads, but remember that the working load limit and break strength are entirely dependent on the strength of the e-track tie downs attached to the track.
